lacking daisies

So I'm such the loser I thought I'd be about updating this. Ironic, considering the sheer volume of egoism my body harbors. Ehh.

So hello. Here I sit, filling out applications to the Great Satan (Starbucks) and these little Main Street boutiques and crap, hoping to God someone thinks I could pass for a barista or a docent just so that I feel like a contributing member of society and not merely a decent human being. I wish I was in Russia, but then there's typhus in the water and that's unpleasant. Any disease involving loss of bowel control just puts me right off my philosophical wino-ism. But how I do love men in little goatees who hand roll cigarettes and speak casually of Stanislavsky. And buy me drinks. Somebody needs to get laid. God I'm glad only three people in the world read this.

(A-ha-- fateful remark number one: now I shall become a world-famous blogger and all shall know just how often my brain is occupied with not racing intellectualism but with the simple joys of the human tongue. Whee. Me talk pretty.)

Wow. This is really helping me in this mood I'm in. (Read: Not so much.) I just gotta remember that I'm 22 and that life in general has to be boring sometime. Y'gotta cocoon at some point-- better it be now than when I've got kids or (god forbid) a Paying Customer.

Ah well-- I have to say at least one deep thing or I'll feel utterly decadent about such a useless post. . . I feel a dove-gray sort of clarity in my brain right now, that would be eminently suited for autumn, and the damn summer just won't give way. Go listen to a woman sing with earth in her voice and whiskey on her breath.

And I am certainly not drunk.

What a shame.

What we need is a little reason(ableness).

So, I have a big ol' soapbox that I can get on eventually about all this, but it warms the cockles of my battered intellectual heart to hear Garrison Keillor, that bastion of old-timey/good-timey American down-hominess, say with total aplomb and calm, decisive REASON that it's high time that "Impeachment" became an action and not just a word we drunken liberals bandy about to make ourselves feel better over our tear-salted pints of bitter, in the Pub of WOE IS WE.

Screw it-- I say IMPEACHMENT. And I say it LOUD.

Here's the link-- read it, and despite the bullet-point review of the latest insanities and political non sequiturs, feel a little better that the folksy uncle you never had has cast his vote:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2006/03/01/keillor/

oh god.

I've succumbed. The crack that is Livejournal now flows through my veins. I must paint my face and sound my Yawp.

But first I must go to be early, like a good little rodent, so that I can convince myself to get out of bed for lecture tomorrow morning-- Bible as Literature, in case you're wondering. Just another class in which to realize that the Biblical God (and God of my childhood) is sort of an asshole, if you don't give him more leniency than Literate Analysis allows.

And I'm known for my leniency. . .at least if I find it interesting to be ambiguous.

Witness my haughty laughter-- tonight is a wordplay night. This is so self-indulgent my toes should be curling.

Will get the hang of this, I'm sure, in a day or two of obsessive posting. Over and out.

~d
